This little sweetheart is the daughter of our music teacher.
I happened to have my camera at the last piano lesson of the year.
I took a few shots as her mom held her up near the basement window's natural light.
Here's a little secret... the natural light? It's where all the magic happens : )
I have been lost in the depths of Picnik and Flickr.
It's why I haven't been blogging.
Well, that and a few other things...
Did you ever watch the TLC's show Clean Sweep?
I loved it and wished on many occasions to be the recipient of one of their makeovers.
Well my wish came true.
Thanks to a very pragmatic and "bossy" friend.
Bossy in this context means "lovely and helpful."
It was a kitchen "clean sweep" doozy.
My girlfriend could have had a career as a professional organizer.
It's why I haven't been blogging.
I'm afraid you'll have to wait for the wonderful before and after's next week.
I'm still tweaking : )
And just for a little extra fun...
Middlest somehow managed to coerce me into saying "Yes" to a year end school party.
A party with seven, eleven year old girls.
A party that was supposed to be outside... assuming the weather would cooperate.
It didn't.
But they had a blast anyway... once they came inside.
Do you think it was OK that I confiscated their iPods?...
and forced them to play charades?
I think I've looked after any one of my kids asking to have a party ever again.
It was a little crowded, since we've lost the use of our basement.
Did I mention we no longer have a basement?
Would you like to see a picture of our basement?
I thought you might.
And surprise surprise, I just happen to have one for you.
And surprise surprise, I just happen to have one for you.
It is a big cavernous bunker, with holes punched through the cement.
Can't you see the possibilities?
The Agronomist has been jack hammering for three weekends straight.
We decided to move e.v.e.r.y. thing around.
Just for fun... because The Agronomist loves to Jack Hammer.
Ha.
Not really.
But he's really good at it.
And just so you know.
I haven't mastered taking pictures of Jack Hammerers.
It hasn't come up much.
So as you can see, life has sped up here at The Bungalow.
And that's OK by me.
I look forward to some more clean sweeping, summer picture taking, photoshop learning
and basement renovating.
Life in the fast lane.
Over and out from the Bungalow!
xoxo,
Bossy or not, that is a GREAT friend to help clean sweep! Can't wait to see the results!
ReplyDeleteI also LOVE Picnik and just starting my Flickr account! I could spend hours and hours on this stuff ... but my family thinks I should engage in their company. LOL! Looking forward to your big shows!!!
ReplyDeleteMy goodness girl you just need to sit down and enjoy a cup of tea.
ReplyDeletewow, not sure I would want my friend to come and help me organize, it would be so much work!!!LOL
ReplyDeleteI have a very, very, VERY strong feeling that I will be dying of jealousy with the big reveal.
ReplyDeleteI feel it in my bones.
Beautiful first shot!!! Oh my! My best friend could be a personal organizer too....but instead she works full time downtown in the big city. I could use her around here! My pantry needs a clean sweep....and my cupboards!
ReplyDeleteNo blogging but it sounds like you are keeping super busy. I will look forward to seeing the results of your reorganization.
ReplyDeleteTraci
You have so much going on. Bet the basement will be wonderful.
ReplyDeleteThere's nothing quite like a man with a jackhammer...
ReplyDelete;)
Did I miss the infant photo shoot pics?!
ReplyDeletewell you know what: I am rubbish about keeping up with blog reading, and haven't been 'round these parts for ages. But every time I do come I am 100% charmed by all that you put here in your posts.
ReplyDeleteSo I am absolutely not holding it against you, this Fast Lane Life of yours. Only wish I had as many good excuses for not posting m'self.
So glad I stopped here tonight. :)
I've been a terrible blogger too! Glad all is well with you. Beautiful baby girl picture.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure those 11 year olds had a blast just being together.
I can't wait to see your basement when it's all done.
You have been just a tad bit busy, haven't you? Thanks for taking a break to blog because I always enjoy reading your posts and viewing your fabulous photos. BTW, the jackhammer one works because it shows the motion.
ReplyDeleteFirst off, I love the jackhammer picture because that is probably how he sees us while operating the thing.
ReplyDeleteSecond, I think it is awesome that you forced the kids to actually interact with each other. Awsome!!
Loved catching up here! Super fun baby project...end of year party...clean sweep kitchen and of course...that basement will be super too!
ReplyDeleteI need to do a little sweep up over here.
Enjoy your day!
