Those pesky Leprechaun's showed up at our house overnight.
I try my best every year to set up a nice table for the girls and this is what I get for my troubles?
I don't know why I bother anymore. It happens every year.
Oh, just a minute...I do know why. It's because it's the only day of the year that we get Lucky Charms for breakfast. Have you ever tasted them? They are so darn yummy. I plan on having a bowl for breakfast, lunch and supper.
I know.
I have issues.
Many of which stem from my mother sprinkling wheat germ on every bowl of cereal I ever ate.
She was very healthy.
And I love her for caring about our well-being.
But I still have issues.
It may have more to do with the enforced liver and onions once a week than the wheat germ. I haven't figured it out yet, I'll let you know when I do.
But you know those little green bedecked guys aren't too bad, even if they do arrive under the cover of night and wreak havoc on our home.
Even if they leave a trail of my ripped napkins all over the place and generally make pests of themselves. They do have some redeeming qualities.
We like their gifts of gold. They are quite generous...well, except for the few gold wrappers that were found in the garbage by our youngest? I mean they must get awfully hungry during their evening escapades?
I know I would.
And these aren't just regular old jelly beans. These are gourmet sour apple jelly bellies!
So I've decided...
too overlook their naughtiness.
I think their hearts are in the right place. Don't you?
HAPPY ST. PATRICK'S DAY
from our home to yours.

PS A very Happy Birthday to our Irish Uncle and Brother-in-law today. We hope the Leprechaun's were very good to him!
This made me laugh! :)
ReplyDeleteLove the little pieces of napkin all over the floor. Your pictures are all amazing. I especially like the first one of the cereal. I'm in a b&w photography class and for some reason I have been taking lots of pictures of cereal boxes. The pictures on the box really pop in black and white. My favorite so far is the peanut butter captain crunch box.
What fun it must be to live in your bungalow. You are so creative and are making such wonderful memories for your daughters. (You are the leprechaun, right?) I laughed at your leprechaun's mischievous antics.
ReplyDeleteAnd I also laughed at the fact that I too wrote about Lucky Charms in my Minnesota Prairie Roots St. Patrick's Day blog post.
Great minds think alike...
Happy St. Patrick's Day!
Happy St. Patrick's Day to you and your family, Dana!!
ReplyDeleteyou are a good mom! love your enthusiasm for St. paddy's day...my weakness is recess puffs. I don't allow junk cereal either..only on their bdays and new years eve!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely way to celebrate. I will keep it in mind for next year!
ReplyDeleteWhat lovely photos! So, you do a set up for St. Patrick's day?! That's impressive. We only have a 'visitor' like that on Christmas!!!
ReplyDeleteI forgot it was St. Patrick's day yesterday!!! Easy to do in Ghana though... :)
How cute!! What a fun mom!! I wasn't allowed to eat "cold cereal" when I was younger, until she went back to work. If I didn't have kids...and ever growing hips, I would buy those yummy, chocolate cereals and eat them all day! Lucky Charms are great too!
ReplyDeleteToo stickin' cute! What a great idea! I am so going to bookmark this for next year.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing and thanks for stopping by my blog with such sweet words!
I am jealous. I didn't do anything for my kids for St. Patricks day - you are such a Martha ;)
ReplyDeleteAs for procrastinating- thanks for your comment - we are kindred souls when it comes to that department!
What a fun day! Those tricky Leprechauns!! You have a beautiful family :)
ReplyDeleteHappy belated St Patrick's day to you, too!!

ReplyDeleteThat was great! I feel bad because I didn't do anything for St. Patrick's day, but wear a green top.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun mom!
ReplyDeleteThanks for linking up!
Oh those pesky leprechauns! My girls were actually quite disappointed that our leprechaun didn't make a bigger mess. haha.
ReplyDeleteLove your photos. How fun!
Popped in from M3B.
ReplyDeleteAwesome photos! I love the perspectives and angles. I am very inspired to let little leprechauns in to make a mess at my house just for the photo opportunity. What a fun way to start off a St Patty's morning.
