We are loving the slow summer mornings, with time to boil eggs and fry potatoes.
It took me awhile but I've realized we don't have to fill our days with camps and lessons.
Family Summer weddings.
Time spent at the farm with cousins.
Grandmama's flowers.
Just hanging out...
Chatting on Facebook with our eldest who is having a great time Parlez Vous-ing En Francais in Quebec!
Our first summer pudding pops.
A reminder to self... do not use coloured craft popsicle sticks.
Can you see the dye seeping into the pudding?
duh.
Getting ready to try out Uncles new boat!
Goofs.
The two day Barbie marathon.
The aftermath of taking the girls to watch Toy Story 3.
We discussed many themes within the movie such as,
Be careful around things which smell of strawberries,
and
If at all possible find a man who can Tango.
Packing the trailer.
We always use our special pillow cases Grandma made many years ago.
Her first summer project.
A new purse sewn with Grandma's help.
Reading the text my daughter sent her dad...
"I am going to miss these meals when I get home.
I am having orzo, green beans and breaded veal with bruschetta for lunch."
Can you believe it?
My own daughter?
Needless to say, it left me feeling a wee bit inspired.
I know... I know... It look good don't it?
Random Happy!

I just love reading everyone's posts on Feel Good Friday. I loved the pics and your little blurbs...it sounds like you're really letting summer seep in and that is inspiration for me. I need to relax more.
ReplyDeleteHave a great Friday.
Je parle francais un peu!!
ReplyDeleteYou pictures are unbelievably stunning!!! Wow!!! I hope you do digital scrap booking because you seriously have a talent!!!
Happy Friday!!!
I found you from Feel Good Friday, and want to second The Girl's comment that your photographs are beautiful. Also, as a mother of two girls, I enjoyed the pictures of your girls being girls. I should definitely take more pictures of mine just living - not posing. And, of course, I must comment on the wedding gown picture. That bride was MADE to wear a mermaid! Stunning! I wish you had a picture from the front...! Keep writing, I'll be back!
ReplyDeleteJust found you....beautiful pictures :-)
ReplyDeleteWe both did random happy posts today! Funny!
ReplyDeleteI love how you can take the ordinary, and through words and images, show us the extraordinary. As always, a delightful post that made me smile.
ReplyDeleteLove the photos with the prairie sky. Miss the "big" sky. We are off to the family farm in Alberta in a few weeks to enjoy the space and freedom. The kids can't wait to hang out on the hay bales or chase kiitens in the barn with their 12 cousins!
ReplyDeleteLove the goofy faces, it made me chuckle. How do you make pudding pops? I used to eat the ones from the store when I was a kid, but I haven't seen them in years.
ReplyDeleteYes, yes, it is a truth we often discover too late...
ReplyDelete"If at all possible, find a man who can tango."
Or at LEAST a man who is willing to learn.
That last picture made my tummy rumble. It looks really good!
ReplyDeleteI didn't even know about feel good friday and I did a happiness is...type post :)
ReplyDeleteGreat photos on your post as usual..love the park ones!
Your daughter is in France?!?!?! Either she is or I'm extremely gullible in the blog world...and the real world. Who am I kidding?
ReplyDeleteI eat ketchup with fried potatoes too!!! :-)
I just clicked through to you from Imene's Journey to a Simple Happy Life.
ReplyDeleteLove your photos and the colors in your blog!
Nicola
Your pics are so creative and fun!
ReplyDeleteLooks like you guys are living it up and having lots of fun. Glad your daughter is enjoying her travels, too!
Wow - that wedding dress looked amazing!
ReplyDeleteMy Hubby is in France at the mo too. He's cycling through the French Alps, and catching a bit of Le Tour. I, on the other hand, am looking after 3 boys during school holidays. Not quite even Stevens, is it?
Gorgeous pic, Dana. Gorgeous.
