Breaking The Rules

Eldest and Middlest have been itching to try out my new camera.

They seem to think they know how to take a pretty good picture.
So I figured I'd let them give it a try.

No... they didn't want me to fix the settings.
And no they did not listen to me when I told them the shots might not work since they were facing straight into the south facing window.
Photography rules suggest photos will be too washed out to be any good.
That one should have the light behind them, allowing the subject to be lit.

But no, they didn't want any of my help.
And so I let them be....sort of.

Are you sure you don't want to have the light to your back honey?
What ISO are you guys on?
Make sure that strap is around your neck!

I was worried all their efforts would be for naught.

 So when I downloaded this,

 this,
and this.

I realized sometimes "breaking the rules" isn't always such a bad thing after all.

xoxo,

These Sweet Shots will be shared over at My3Boybarians for Sweet Shot Tuesday!

  6. What great shots they got! Good lesson for this Sandwich Generation granny nanny, that's for sure :) And now that I think of it, it's actually one I've learned as well. My granddaughter and I were having fun with a camera and I thought all the pix would come out awful. But lo and behold, we got some really fun and sweet shots from that, too. Thanks for sharing the adorable pictures and your fun family memories. :)
