Life has been busy.
This week has been full of photo editing.
My computer is still not working properly.
I have a Mac and with it, I bought something called Applecare.
(A call line where experts can help you with any problems.)
I ended up with several Applecare experts.
Then I was transferred to one of the Applecare expert's supervisors.
Then he needed to get help from his Engineering Tech support.
Whatever was supposed to work, didn't.
He was going to call back by the end of the day to get this resolved.
He didn't.
I have his number.
I can call him.
I'm just tired of wasting spending so much time accomplishing absolutely nothing.
And I don't know what I would do if I had to have my life in a box computer sent away.
So I'm ignoring all the glitches for now.
It's what I do best.
I had the opportunity to take photos of another newborn.
I did the shoot at their house.
A first for me, I was there for almost three hours.
I learned so much.
I learned it's much easier to take pictures in your own home.
But I also know it's much easier for mother's with newborns for you to come to them.
So I'm going to stretch and learn and get better at assessing and seeing good shots in new places!
I also did a trade.
A family photo shoot for some design expertise.
I was thrilled with both.
She is extremely creative, and I know she will look at photos much differently than someone who isn't.
So I was able to try some things that maybe other client's would not appreciate.
I was thrilled with the shot above.
I've been wanting to try something like this... and love it!
By far my favourite photo of the week!

By far my favourite photo of the week!
Again with every shoot I am learning more and more.
And I realized maybe it would be nice for me to pass along some of these 'aha' moments.
Possibly a weekly photo tips post?
I'll see if I can be that structured;
It's not in my genetic makeup.
But then again,
I stopped eating bread and sugar at a ripe o'l age.

So it gives me hope that one can teach an old dog new tricks.
hmmm...I just re-read that and realized I may have inadvertently compared myself to an old dog.
Just in case you were wondering?
I've always seen myself as a stately Irish Setter.
..in case.. you know... you were. wondering.

I'll be able to show you more of both photo shoots, once I get caught up.
Both The Agronomist's family and my own are also waiting for photos taken this past summer.
Hello Family.. wave wave... I promise they are on their way : )

Project Baby
I will have a post soon with several weeks together. My workflow is anything but efficient.
It's the one area I will be focusing on over the next several months.
And while I'm upstairs working on the computer.
Tony is downstairs working his magic.
It is all very exciting, and frustrating at the same time.
I'm a dreamer.
I can see so many possibilities, but find it hard to decide.
While the mess is still e.v.e.r.y.w.h.e.r.e....
the basement is looking great, and deserves a post of it's own.
The mudding and sanding are almost complete,
and painting has begun.
Pop by over the weekend, and I'll show you all the amazing progress,
and decisions that have been made so far.
The new windows let in so much light.
We are definitely seeing the light at the end of the tunnel.
Have a great weekend friends!
xoxo.
PS and yes I suspect I am still driving The Agronomist and Tony crazy with all my...
What if we...?
What if we...?
Could that work?
Trim style? umm.... let me get back to you on that : )

Glad you are seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. As always, your photos are terrific.
ReplyDeleteAnd boy, do I hear you about the computer problems. I'm about to throttle the AOL postmaster(s), who are still working on a truly annoying glitch with my email account that has gone on for waaaay too long.
How hard should it be to fix these things???

I love that the basement is coming alone so well!
ReplyDeleteYes, yes...I would love it if you did a weekly post on photo tips! The basement looks like it's really coming along. Still looking forward to seeing what you have done. Happy weekend Dana!

I am LOVING your photos, as well as the progress on your basement. So excited for you!
ReplyDeleteAnd btw, it's official now...I'm unemployed and couldn't be happier.
Great shots. I love the out of ordinary ones as well. Best wishes on your basement transformation. Once that mud goes up the home stretch begins.
ReplyDeleteThat first shot of the little one is just so beautiful - well done.
ReplyDeleteTerrific images. The shot of the baby's feet is just gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteGoodluck with your renovations.
Visiting from "Favorite Photo of the Week". I adore that first shot of yours. You can feel the love just looking at that hand on those tiny little feet. Beautiful.

We have a Mac and so far so good {fingers crossed - mind you it has gotten really slow lately} I love the photos you have taken thus far, I am glad you are using your talent to it's fullest potential. I have done the same as you, except I am giving design expertise {what little I have} in exchange for family photos!
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to your basement updates - how exciting! I remember when we lived in Sherwood Park, we loved our basement, so cozy and bright! Made the winters tolerable.
Have a great weekend!
The basement looks like it's coming along. We finished ours last year.. and I absolutely love it! Your newest follower, Kansas Amy.
ReplyDeleteI'm a huge fan of your photography! I like the idea of posting weekly tips.
