We Loved This Book: And We Think You Will Too.

We have a habit here at Bungalow'56.  It's called . . . Reading.

You may have heard of it?  It's something people used to do before Facebook, before Tweeting (excuse me), before Grey's Anatomy, and often before bed.

There is one book that has circulated to Rave Reviews both in the pre-teen, teen and adult sections of our bookshelf.

Grandma and Grandpa read this book and loved it sooo much, each and every grandchild and their parents received a copy for Christmas.

This is the version the 14 to 67 crowd was reading.

This is the edition the under fourteen crowd enjoyed
It is the story of a modern day hero.  An often crazy, outrageous, passionate and determined mountain climber turned school builder, whom you will love rooting for. If you've ever wondered if the actions of one person can truly make a difference, this book will leave all doubts behind.  This book has already been the topic of two school projects and more dinner table discussions than I can count.  It has caught our daughter's attention.  We loved this book, and we think you will too.

If you are intrinsically against the written word,  perhaps the movie is around the corner.

However, the rule here at Bungalow'56 is. . .  no readie no bookie. . . no watchie no movie.

Now if you'll excuse me, the kettle is whistling.

It's (Three Cups of) Tea time.

  1. I am especially excited that your daughter is reading this book. What a great message to give her at a young age: every ordinary, plain-old person can make a difference in this world. You don't have to be a rock star or a jock star. All you have to do is to stumble across a need and do something about it.

    Love that book!!

  2. I'm so glad you posted about this book. I have been wanting to read it for a while now, but haven't yet. I think a girl in my book club has it - I will be borrowing it soon!
