Easter Saturday Preparations at Bungalow'56

Easter preparations were in full swing today at Bungalow'56.

These white eggs....

added to these glasses of dye,

and swirled around just so.

.
Created a basket of these.
Aren't they beautiful in a tie dyed, earthy sort of way?

And while we are on the subject of eggs, the girls found another bunch I had forgotten about.

And while The Agronomist and I were getting groceries.
They hung them up on our front door.
It looked so nice when we drove up.

A certain someone is really hoping...

This guy will show up... to bring her some vegetables : )

Earlier in the day, our eldest iced the leftover hot cross buns she made yesterday.
I think her arms are still sore from the ten minutes of kneading each batch required.
She made three!  And let me tell you, they are good.

So darn good, I gave myself a tummy ache.

Or maybe the tummy ache was due to our visit to Grandma and Grandpa's.
They always have the most beautiful flowers, although that's not what gave me a tummy ache.
Wouldn't you know it, Grandma had baked hot cross buns too!  I didn't want to be rude and say No. Although I tried.  I really did.
Or maybe the tummy ache really picked up steam when after Grandma and Grandpa's we visited Nana's, where there was a big basket of these.

It's hard to be sure.
But let's just say...TUMS were involved.

Regardless of the state of my tummy, I think we are ready.
We have our Easter outfits, we will get up and celebrate tomorrow morning, and wake up all the neighbours with shrieks of excitement (me included), while the girls navigate through some snow to look for Easter eggs.  I will have my camera ready.

We don't want to be late for church now do we? Hmm? How early is too early? 8 am, 7, or maybe 6?

Just be very, very happy you don't live next door.

Have a Happy Easter!

  1. Dana, thanks for sharing your egging dying and decorating. My kids are not interested in egg dying at 19 and 21 so I have not dyed any in few years. We are going to a friend's house tomorrow celebrate the holiday with them.
    Have a wonderful Easter.

  2. Happy Easter!!

I love your eggs & hot cross buns are delish, it's also true that it would've been rude not to eat at Grandma's too :)

  3. I have NEVER dyed eggs. Is that sad? I've always wanted to but when I was younger we just didn't and now that I'm older I never get around to it. One of these days I need to try it out. Awesome pics!
