Hello... Goodbye

Hello Photography Business... the one that seems to be happening despite my feeling ready : )

Goodbye office.... I can't believe you've been my home since February.
Goodbye... candy dish.  You who taunted and dared me to take just one. I wish you well.
Goodbye coffee... I did enjoy your return back into my life. I will miss you more than you know.

OK who am I kidding... I'm drinking coffee again, and I would like to thank office for this return to an old friend, until of course stomach once again decides otherwise.

Goodbye filing... your colours will ever be etched into my mind, unlike the paper cuts, which have healed.
Goodbye sugar cubes... towering in the cupboard waiting for me to break. I scoff at your ego.
Goodbye office ...I enjoyed spending my days with such nice people.
I love that you all knew that laughter makes a day go by very quickly.

Friday was my last day at the office.
Saying yes to going back to work was the best decision I ever made.
It made, what I have, and do at home, crystal clear.
It allowed me to see all the amazing possibilities outside of these Bungalow'56 walls.
The Goodbye is Bittersweet however, as I am going to miss the great people along with the structure to my days.

I don't think I will have any trouble keeping busy though...
Hello Photo shoots... I look forward to each and every opportunity to learn.

Summer is just around the corner and I can't wait to meet it head on.

Hello summer blooms... our lilac bushes are leading the way.

And if this is any indication as to the kind of summer in store... I for one? Can't wait.

Hello mini blizzards... so happy they now have a reasonable size for a once in awhile summer treat.

Hello Daughters... I can't wait to reconnect with you.

I've been missing you.

and finally...

Goodbye to busy beyond belief.

It is time for summer,
time to have a cup of afternoon java,
and time to start slowing down a little bit here at the bungalow.

xoxo,

  2. Hello! I just had my first mini blizzard on Friday! Woohoo! The perfect size! LOVE that umbrella shot! Gorgeous! Thinking of jumping in head first.....no name for me either....not sure where to start (I guess editing my Sunday session?). Can't wait for school to end to have a little less to do each day. But I'm not looking forward to fall when Jack is away from me all day every day. I'm not ready. Have a happy day....trying to breathe over here too......

  3. LOVE LOVE LOVE the shot with the umbrella. Girl, you got skillz. I'm impressed. Can't wait to see what life is bringing you. And if I were in Canada, I would so call you to stifle/shoot my family. (and I know you won't be venturing south of the border for a while!)

  6. That explains your "absence"! I don't know how women who work outside the home do it. My 1-2 day per week work is stressful enough. Yay, for your photography business. Wish you lived closer, I would hire you in a snap! Good luck darlin'!

  7. As always, your images are beautiful. The light. The composition. The way you view a subject in a unique and interesting way. You don't need good luck with your photo business. You own talent and that shows in every photo you share with us. So happy for you!

  13. Hi, Dana! I've had fun peeking around your blog a little tonight. Your photography is beautiful, and I'm excited for you as you begin this new venture. May it go well for you! I'm sure you will bring much joy to those whom you photograph!

And more time with your children? Oh, yes, isn't it precious?! My oldest turned nine years old today, so I'm particularly sentimental this evening, as I sit here pondering how time has rushed by so quickly.

    Have a wonderful summer!
