I know they may not look like much from here.
But I'm telling you, I got a steal of a deal.
Can you see what I'm doing my happy dance for now?
No?
Well come a little closer, don't be shy.
Now do you see what I'm talking about?
OK, to be honest this wasn't quite the "Ta Da" kind of reveal I was hoping for.
With all the grey interior and the dust they just seem a bit camouflaged and dingy.
There... now that gives you a better idea, as to why I'm doing a happy dance over here.
These lights have been on my radar for an awful long time.
Whenever I took our recyling to the city recyling depot I couldn't help myself.
I would drive over to the next lot and take a look at all of the recycled building materials.
I always loved these, and when I realized the direction the basement was taking,
I thought maybe they might work.
I wasn't sure if they would fit...
But the old suburban didn't let me down.
These ladies are tall!
Aren't they pretty?
... and with just the right price tag too!
They are black on the outside with white enamel on the inside.
I know they have a little cinderella quality to them at the moment,
They simply need a little shine and spit along with a chain and cord,
and they will be perfect.
Hmm? Now lookee here?
What did I find on Pinterest?
Black enamel on the outside white on the inside.
This one already had the shine and spit along with the chain and cord
and it was selling for 185 pounds which is approx $258 CAD.
No doubt about it now... I scored a steal of deal.
The Agronomist put down the flooring a few weeks back.
Sadly Tony moved on to bigger and better jobs.
We have been moving along slowly, but steadily, on our own.
We gave the industrial lights a try.
And they are going to work out just perfectly,
especially once we hang them lower on a chain.
The remainders will be hung in the stairwell, cluster style.
At least that's the plan right now.
But... I have been known, on occasion...
to change my mind : )
I promise more photos are on their way.
I can't wait to show you the finished results.
We still have the stairs to attend to,
Mortar to apply,
The large window to install beside the stained glass,
Painting of the brick,
The black board wall to paint and
Thresholds to install.
I would just like it to be noted that the use of the word "we",
is being used very loosely.
It is more of a suggestion really.
Don't get me wrong,
The Agronomist and I are a great team.
He does the work... and I inspect it.
He finishes the work... and I do my best cheerleading cheer.
Give me an "A" give me a "G"...
And then I go and get him a nice cold beer.
So far it's been working out really well : )
xoxo,
