Protect Our Children: Have You Heard About Kony Yet?

invisible2
Eldest saw it first.
Then she posted it onto her facebook page.
Middlest watched it next.

Both of them hounded The Agronomist and I to watch it.
They were upset it took us until 10:00pm to sit down and click play.

After watching and wiping away a few tears,  I decided it was too important not to share.

Is it possible for us to change the world?
I sure hope so.
As a mother, I felt obligated to share this message.
Because if I had been dealt a different hand?
This could be a story with different faces.

If you haven't heard about Kony yet, you will.
Let's do this together!

For once I feel as though I can do something.
Something that will truly make a difference.

Just watch the first two minutes.
That is all I ask.

... and then tweet about it, and put it on facebook and blog about it.

  1. Thank you for sharing this ... just watched it thro and cried.
There are incredible people out there so willing to make a difference in this world, to make it a better world for our children. And teaching our children to make a difference, to be the change, is the only way we can hope for the kind of world we wish for them to grow up in.

  9. I watched the entire film and signed the petition. I have to admit that I've never heard of Kony before and I'm saddened to hear that it's been going on for so long. He must be stopped.

  11. This has been all over the news today. It's been interesting hearing the pros and cons on the video and the movement. Kony is an evil man. No doubt.

  12. The world is full of so much evil. I feel badly feeling sorry for me in a terible job situation with angry, rude people. I will watch it all later with my hubby. Thank you and I think Mother Teresa was right, we can change the world, one person at a time. Hugs Annr

  13. Oh, Dana, I remember the first time I saw this: crumbled me. Yes, I have tweeted it out.

And really should post on this.

    It has to be heard.

Thank you for doing it here.

  14. Dana, I have seen this video before, but I watched it again here. It is heartbreaking, but joyful that so many people have come together to capture Joesph Kony.

  15. I've watched bits of this, but I need to watch the entire thing. You are SO right, the only way the world is gonna change is by each of us doing something, one person at a time. If we were all so mindful, it would be a WONDERFUL world. Will watch the full video over the weekend. I do know mostly what it's about, and it's enough to rip a mama's heart out.

  17. horrible. Slavery is rampant in this world even now, even in the US. There is a place called The International Freedom Center in the Cincinnati, Ohio area that has a permanent exhibit on Slavery Today. quite shocking. Yes, there are even many slaves here in the USA, even today. Many children are forced into slavery--sexual, labor (chocolate, tomato), soldiering. Why are we so oblivious?
