Frugal Fashion, Writers and Promises

When I look at this room, I swoon.

I love the green chairs,  I love the bamboo blinds, I love the hanging lampshade, I love the pocket door, I love the light, I love the space.

I just LOVE.

No this is not a picture from Bungalow'56.  I just wish it were.

I'm planning on making some decor decisions this weekend.

As well as getting a few projects completed!

I can't wait to show you.

Heh heh heh, did you read that?
Yeah, the two sentences just above this one?
Wasn't that genius?

Now my procrastinating self will not be able to peek out from under the rug.

I've made a Bungalow'56 promise, and as you all know A Promise is a Promise no matter how small!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
You know what else makes me swoon?  Finding posts that are beautifully written.
This past week I came across a new blogger I would like to share with you...
Her post about Matriarchs Of Spring was personification genius.
One of her commenters mentioned,
her writing was "like dessert for a girl who loves words."
I would have to agree.
The taste sensation of "eating a cupcake" would best describe how happy her writing made me.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I've also been dying to show you some more Frugal Fashionista Finds:
Because they make me very, very happy.
Can you believe this OP sweater was $4?
OK so a little ironing wouldn't have hurt
but I was waaay too excited to have to wait to take a picture.
Just another great Value Village Find at Bungalow'56.
Now this dress was what I would call a steal.
If you remember some of my Easter Posts, this was the dress my eldest daughter wore.
On Easter Saturday we realized she had nothing to wear.
So off we went in search of the perfect Easter dress.
Like that was going to happen?
Just as we were about to leave I started flicking through all the ugliest clearance dresses you could ever imagine.
This particular dress was $99, which was on clearance at Sears for $24.99
Get this?  With an extra %60 off because it just happened to be Sears Days.
It was a little loud but she tried it on anyway.
It fit her like a glove and looked amazing.
And for just $14.99, it was just what the Easter Bunny ordered!
This dress was also a Clearance find at Winner's (tj Maxx) and was only $8.
With the cowboy boots, it hits just the right funky/country note.

And finally last but not least a Vintage Cashmere sweater made in Wales.
And there you have it.
A Frugal Fashion Feast at Bungalow'56!
I'll say it again, The Finer Things In Life do not have to break the bank!
(OK so that's the first time I've said it.)  But it is oh so true!

Now go and have a great weekend.
I will be busy.
Keeping some very important promises...

  1. First of all..your daughter could totally be a model. She is beautiful Dana. She looks great in anything! And I bought all my bamboo shades off of Amazon..dirt cheap. They're cheap at Target too. Love my bamboo shades! And I LOVE those green chairs!

  2. Glad you are getting things done! Doesn't it feel great? I finally ordered chairs for my new kitchen table. They just came in this week & I am in love with them! I am having slipcovers made for them & having the table painted. Hoping to have this set for a long time. My current set is in bad shape & was found under 3 inches of snow when we moved here 8 years ago. If you want to continue your trend of getting things done, I love New Nostalgia's Anti-Procrastination Tuesdays. It has helped me get things done, that I never would have touched, like cleaning under the kitchen sink, which I will be posting about soon! Hugs, Cathy

  4. I wish I could pull off those last two outfits. Maybe because she's a teen and I'm forty? That might have something to do with it.

  5. I would like your daughter's lovely, lithe figure please, so I can wear all those chic, funky looks.

    My bosomed and hipped figure cannot pull that off without looking far too much like a stuffed sausage.

    So if you could package that up and send it to me, please? ;)

  10. Oh, today, I am a wee bit jealous of the daughter thing you got goin' on.

    They're beautiful. And how fun to dress and shop with them.

    Just give a minute here...I'll be alright.

    Back to my mantra, "I'm happy with all boys.

    I'm happy with all boys."

    Your daughters are divine.
